At T2, the gap was maintained at 25 seconds. In the transition area, Vincent Luis (Ste Geneviève Triathlon) and Anthony Pujades were the fastest and set off first, followed by the rest of the group. The two Frenchmen set the pace, but it was a Spaniard who recorded the best time on the promenade. Mario Mola, the triple world champion in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and vice-world champion in 2019, clocked 13’35 over 5 km and won the individual stage in 49’19. He finished ahead of the 2019 world champion, Vincent Luis, in 49’27, and the Belgian Jelle Geens, who placed 3rd in 49’31.
