The Transmaurienne Vanoise will celebrate its 35th edition in July 2023. For the occasion, the event reveals two major new features: the launch of the brand new Festival Mode, to close the week in style, and changes to the UCI cross-country points in its Competition Mode. See you from July 16 to 23, for 8 memorable days of mountain biking!
The organizers of the Transmaurienne Vanoise by Dare2b had announced it: this 35th edition has its share of surprises and new features in store.
After unveiling the creation of a new mode – the Festival Mode, which will close the week – last July, and the extension of the event from 6 to 8 days, another major change has just been revealed. In
2023, the Competition Mode, the flagship event of the high Maurienne mountain bike event, is evolving.

While the traditional 5-day stage race remains, the Transmaurienne Vanoise will this year allow riders to win UCI cross-country points, precious in this pre-Olympic year for elite riders and national teams. In total, 200 UCI Cross-Country points will be distributed over the week. One thing is certain, the battle will be tough!
For this anniversary edition, the Transmaurienne Vanoise also unveils a new visual in the colors of the event, integrating the new Festival Mode.
4 modes for all levels from July 16 to 21
COMPETITION MODE
5 days of UCI event for a unique stage race in France. 2 courses to choose from and 3 formulas:
9000 Course, EDF E-Race and 6000 Course. An event open to all for 1 to 5 days, on mountain bikes
or E-bikes. New for 2023: 200 UCI cross-country points up for grabs, to get a taste of the
Olympic rings!
ULTRA MODE
This is the mode to push your limits. A basic French-Italian course of 150km and 4,900m of
D+ with additional loops for those who want more and wish to become Ultra
Finishers, by completing 260km and 9,500m of D+. All to be completed in pairs and in less than 50h.
HIKING MODE
Sporty Hike, EDF E-Hike or Family Hike: this mode is open to all, for 1 to 5 days,
on mountain bikes or E-bikes and from 11 years old. Every day of the week – except Wednesday
dedicated to Competition Mode – several courses will be offered, for all levels, with
distances from 20 to 45km.

CHILDREN’S MODE
Reserved for 2-14 year olds, it allows the youngest to discover and learn about the different practices of
mountain biking, under the watchful eyes of their parents. Cross-Country, Downhill and Balance Bike Racing will
therefore be on the menu for this new edition. The first two events are on the FFC calendar
and are part of the Savoie Departmental Young Mountain Bikers Trophy.
New: a festival mode on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July
This is one of the big new features this year: the Transmaurienne Vanoise is launching its Festival Mode, to close the event in style! On the program, the possibility for participants to ride freely on the Aussois and Val Cenis areas and to enjoy a unique hike.
For the occasion, the ski lifts of both resorts will be open. The organization will also set up coaching sessions to allow interested mountain bikers to improve their practice. An exhibition, pump track, concert and film festival with “Tous en Selle” will animate these two festive days in the heart of the Haute Maurienne Vanoise.
A highly anticipated new feature, announced at the end of the 2022 edition, which will delight young and old alike.
