After a 3,800 m swim, where he exited in 6th position,5’28 behind New Zealander Dylan McNeice, the Breton managed his bike leg well and steadily gained time on the leaders.Coming from behind,German Stefan Schumacher was first to rack his bike(event bike record in 4h43’22),accompanied by Briton Philip Graves, but Arnaud Guilloux arrived in 3rd position, only 1’08 behind.
After a few kilometers of running, the Frenchman took the lead of the race and quickly opened up a large gap on his opponents:more than 5′ at km 14 and more than 8′ at km 25.He was never caught.
