Both qualified for the Ironman 70.3 Nice 2019 World Championship (1.9-90-21), Laurent Jalabert and Alexandre Vinokurov both won their age group classification and thus became World Champions.
The Frenchman won in the 50-54 age category. After an average swim in 35’23, “Jaja” posted the best bike split in 2h31’07 (59th overall time) and the 4th fastest run time in his category in 1h22’32 for an average pace of 3’55/km (287th overall time). The Mazamet native completed the course in 4h34’55, taking 1st place in his age group (356 starters) and finishing 173rd overall.

For his part,the Kazakh won the 45-49 age category.Also with an average swim in 33’55,“Vino” like “Jaja” posted the best bike split in 2h24’21 in his category(16th overall time)and the 26th fastest run time in 1h25’05 at an average pace of 4’02/km(484th overall time).He completed the course in 4h28’47,taking first place in his age group(507 starters)and finishing 93rd overall.
