After the junior women and then men this morning,Lausanne hosted the U23 women from noon onwards for an Olympic format(1.5-40-10).Two French women were at the start:Pauline Landron and, more notably,Émilie Morier, who has been in excellent form this season and recently finished 12th at the Tokyo Olympic Games Test Event.

After 1500m of swimming,Émilie Morier exited in 10th position and started the bike leg with the lead women.Behind her,it was tougher for Pauline Landron, who was relegated to the back of the group in the water and then delayed at the T2 exit when mounting her bike.Dropped and alone in her effort, she abandoned a few kilometers later.
At the front, nine athletes, including Émilie Morier, led the bike leg.The Frenchwoman was one of the most active in the group, constantly maintaining and increasing the pace of the breakaway riders, who had about a 45-second lead over the rest of the peloton.

The U23 women are strung out across the course with Emilie Morier hammering it down in the warm conditions of Lausanne.

But the pace set by the Frenchwoman was far too high for her competitors. The gap grew, and no one could challenge her supremacy.
