Zwift is expanding its offering with Zwift Plus, a subscription tier that pairs personalized training guidance with a new immersive experience on routes filmed in high definition. What’s on offer: plans tailored to each rider’s goals and availability, plus 21 video routes spread across six countries, for a total of 385 km of new roads to explore.
With this new tier, the platform aims to give indoor riders more options, whether they want to structure their training or simply vary the routes of their virtual rides.
Zwift Coach: training plans tailored to every rider
The main new feature of Zwift Plus is Zwift Coach, a coaching tool built into the Zwift ecosystem. Its goal is to make structured training more accessible, while avoiding the rigidity of some programs that impose hard sessions that are difficult to fit around everyday life.

After answering a few questions and setting a goal, the user gets a personalized plan that takes into account their recent fitness level, experience, riding preferences and the time they have available to train. The system also adjusts the content and intensity of the sessions based on this information.
To build its recommendations, Zwift Coach combines peer-reviewed training models from sports science research with the analysis of anonymized power and heart rate data from millions of users on the platform.

The idea is not to limit users to a string of structured workouts, but to offer them a program that fits the way they usually ride. According to Zwift, 63% of its subscribers do several types of activities, while only 13% focus exclusively on structured workouts.
Zwift Coach can therefore draw on a content library that includes thousands of coach-designed sessions, as well as free rides, rides with the RoboPacers and events organized on the platform. This variety is meant to let riders work toward a specific goal without systematically sacrificing the fun of riding.
Guidance before and after every session
The support offered by Zwift Coach goes beyond creating a plan. Before each workout, recommendations explain to the user what the session involves and how it fits into their preparation. This information is available from the redesigned home screen of the Zwift Companion app, but also directly in the game, next to the scheduled activity.

Once the session is over, a new “Coach Analysis” tab appears in the activity summary. It lets you read the comments tied to the workout you just completed. This feedback then remains available in Zwift Companion, from the activities page.
Zwift also emphasizes the flexibility of the program. A missed session or a desire to ride differently shouldn’t derail the whole preparation. The system is designed to account for the ups and downs of a busy schedule and help users keep progressing despite changes of plan. The personalized training plan is set up directly from the Zwift Companion app. This feature is exclusive to Zwift Plus subscribers.
Zwift Video: 21 filmed routes to freshen up indoor rides
The other major new feature of Zwift Plus is Zwift Video, an experience that lets you ride real roads filmed in high definition, rather than the fully 3D-modeled environments that usually characterize the platform.

At launch, 21 routes are available in six countries, for an announced total of 385 km. The selection mixes well-known climbs, coastal roads, desert landscapes and lesser-known routes. It includes the Col du Galibier, Sa Calobra in Mallorca and several roads in the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
The choice of footage aims to showcase the scenery while keeping the video smooth during the effort. Zwift thus intends to bring another dimension to indoor trainer sessions, with settings inspired by roads that riders may know or want to discover.
This new experience keeps much of the game’s usual mechanics. PowerUps, segment leaderboards, HoloReplays, Drops and XP are all still there, as are Zwift’s signature visual elements, from road markings to route arches and the brand’s blimp.
The feel of the ride and the interactions with the pack are also meant to stay consistent with those of the traditional virtual worlds. Zwift Video is rather a new way to enjoy the game environment.

Routes you can repeat freely and workouts of your choice
Zwift Video routes can be ridden on a loop, so you can freely choose the length of your ride. Users can pair any workout with any route, or use HoloReplays to compare themselves with their own performances on the segments. You can also extend a ride to enjoy the scenery for longer, without being tied to a one-way route.
At launch, Zwift is accompanying this new feature with a Globetrotter challenge. Participants must ride the ten routes involved before February 1 to unlock a special kit and extra XP.

Zwift Plus subscribers get access to all 21 routes from launch. They can join them at any time and ride alongside the other users on the roads. Zwift also plans to roll out organized events and MeetUps over the coming months.
