With the Axxome AL, Origine brings its flagship road platform to an aluminum version offered from €1,350. The new model relies on a proven geometry, a 6061 aluminum frame and a fully customizable configuration, with assembly and paint done in France.
After more than twelve years of development around the Axxome range, Origine is launching the Axxome AL, a road bike designed to make its approach to performance more accessible. The brand from northern France carries over the principles that shaped its previous models: balanced geometry, lively handling and a compromise between efficiency and comfort.
The frame is made of 6061 aluminum, with variable-wall-thickness tubes to match the amount of material to the mechanical stresses. The aim is to keep weight under control while retaining the stiffness needed for accelerations and power transfer. Depending on the configuration chosen, the bike can come in under 8 kg.
The entry-level version, priced at €1,350, gets a Shimano drivetrain and Mavic wheels. Its claimed weight is around 10 kg.
Versatile geometry and current standards
The Axxome AL follows the broad lines of the geometry developed for the Axxome family, with a design meant to suit different body types, women’s and men’s alike. Origine is targeting riders new to the road as well as regular riders looking for a lively bike, and even aspiring racers.
The frame takes tires from 25 to 35 mm wide, so you can favor road efficiency or opt for more comfort. It is compatible with mechanical and electronic drivetrains, in single or double chainring, depending on the groupsets and configurations offered.
It also features a UDH universal derailleur hanger, a 68 mm BSA threaded bottom bracket and 12 x 100 mm front and 12 x 142 mm rear thru-axles. The seatpost diameter is 27.2 mm.
Like the brand’s other frames, the Axxome AL comes with a lifetime warranty.
Customization from €1,350
What sets the offer apart is customization. In the Origine configurator, buyers can choose the drivetrain, wheels, components, cockpit, gearing, saddle and tires. Colors and graphics are also customizable, with no extra charge announced for this option.
The bike is hand-painted in France and assembled in Origine’s workshops in Rouvignies, in the Nord region. The brand thus aims to offer a bike suited to each rider’s needs and budget, rather than a range limited to a few predefined builds.
With a starting price of €1,350, the Axxome AL rounds out Origine’s road range by betting on aluminum, customization and a design drawing on the experience gained with previous generations of Axxome.
