The British Grand Départ will feature three stages, including an 18-kilometer team time trial through the streets of London, a first in the event’s history. After crossing the English Channel, the French route will favor puncheurs and breakaway riders, with hilly stages in the Pas-de-Calais and the Vexin. The sixth stage, between Orléans and Bourges, will provide the main opportunity for the sprinters.
The climbers will then take center stage with a first summit finish at La Loge des Gardes on stage seven. The following day, the rugged roads of Auvergne will lead the peloton towards Clermont-Ferrand, ahead of the queen stage.
Spanning 170 kilometers, the final day between Clermont-Ferrand and the Puy de Dôme will boast 3,800 meters of elevation gain. The final climb, with its last four kilometers averaging 12%, could shake up the general classification and crown the winner of this 2027 edition.
