There are people we meet. And then there are those who leave a mark. Guillaume Drouilly was one of those people. It was with immense sadness that we learned of his passing at just 41 years old. And ever since, it’s been hard to find the right words. No doubt because Guillaume always had them—the right words to make people laugh, to tell stories, to build connections. And that very personal way of entering a conversation—and people’s lives—naturally.

Guillaume loved sports, cycling, running, and the great outdoors. But behind all these passions, there was, above all, the man himself. And it is undoubtedly him—far more than the athlete—that everyone who knew him will remember.
A funny guy. Terribly funny, in fact. Intelligent, generous, curious, with an obvious talent for communication and a presence that brought moments to life. Guillaume was one of those people you were simply happy to run into—at a race, at an event, or during a conversation that almost always ended up lasting longer than expected. And then there was that quality that’s harder to explain: Guillaume loved people. And people loved Guillaume. And perhaps, in the end, that’s the most beautiful legacy one can leave behind.
At 3bikes, we talk every day about performance, kilometers, times, gear, and athletes’ stories. But some days serve as a stark reminder that behind it all, what really matters are the connections and bonds that sports help create.
So today, we won’t be talking about watts, results, or rankings. We’ll simply be thinking of Guillaume—of his smile, his sense of humor, and the energy he brought wherever he went. And we’ll be thinking of all those who would have loved to share many more kilometers, conversations, and laughs with him.
The entire 3bikes team sends its most sincere thoughts to his family, loved ones, friends, and everyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with him. Some people pass through our lives. Others stay for a while. Bye, Guillaume!
