New Canyon Grail: Focus on Speed and Large Volumes

Canyon is updating its flagship competition-focused gravel bike. The third generation of the Grail features significantly increased tire clearance, a redesigned aerodynamic profile, and a more aggressive riding position.

Ten years after the first international gravel races emerged, the discipline has evolved considerably toward greater speed and technical complexity. Canyon is adapting its flagship model with the launch of the third generation of the Grail, which was already put to the test in competition by Rosa Klöser during her victory at La Traka 360.

Geometry Updates and Increased Tire Clearance

The main technical change lies in the tire clearance: the frame and fork now accommodate tire widths of up to 57 mm (2.25 inches). This modification aims to provide greater comfort and traction on rough terrain.

In terms of geometry, the German brand has lowered the stack (head tube height) by 15 mm to provide a lower, more aerodynamic riding position. The long wheelbase and 71.5° head angle are designed to maintain stability at high speeds on unstable sections.

Features and Variants

The Grail features several integration and adjustment options:

Adjustable cockpit: PACE technology allows you to adjust the height and width of the handlebars.
Integrated storage: a hatch in the down tube (LOAD Storage) allows you to carry repair tools.
Dedicated luggage: lightweight panniers developed with Cyclite attach via a quick-release mechanism.

Three trim levels are available in the catalog: the top-of-the-line CFR version (equipped with SRAM RED XPLR AXS or Shimano GRX Di2 800), the mid-range CF SLX version (SRAM FORCE XPLR AXS or Shimano GRX Di2 700), and the entry-level CF model (SRAM RIVAL XPLR AXS or Shimano GRX 600). In Europe, the first two tiers are eligible for the MyCanyon customization program (choice of paint, cockpit, wheels, or gear ratios).
