Miche Unveils New Gravel Wheels

The new Miche Graff RD tires were born where gravel riding is at its toughest: The Traka, Unbound, The Hills, and the UCI Gravel World Series. Developed in collaboration with The Grip and Mattia De Marchi, they were designed to solve a problem long considered impossible: combining aerodynamics, shock absorption, lightness, and precision in a single wheel.

The Graff RD is the result of field testing under real-world conditions—at full speed and under load—during the most demanding races. Only solutions proven in extreme situations were selected. Aerodynamics served as the starting point. Miche redesigned the profile based on the Graff Aero 48, widened the rim groove, and developed a new shape inspired by NACA profiles to stabilize airflow and reduce turbulence. Wind tunnel tests, conducted with 47- and 50-mm tires at speeds between 30 and 40 km/h, show a drag reduction of up to 6.92% compared to the Graff Aero 48.

The rim has been completely redesigned: increased internal width, reinforced shoulders to withstand lateral and radial impacts, and optimized aerodynamic performance even with tire widths exceeding 45 mm. The 30-mm hookless inner profile improves tire support, stability, and vibration absorption, allowing you to ride faster, more comfortably, and for longer. The VONOA® carbon spokes, derived from the development of the Deva RD, feature a 4×1 mm cross-section and a 12+12 configuration to combine lateral stiffness, responsiveness, and handling precision.

The weight remains low: 1,455 g per pair, which is 75 g less than the Graff Aero 48. The hubs, machined from Ergal 7075 T6, are optimized for carbon spokes and equipped with the new CeramicSpeed Alpha bearings, which are smoother, more durable, and lighter than steel. Each wheel undergoes Miche’s impact protocol, simulating the repeated shocks of intense gravel riding. The Wild Lilac finish, inspired by the rocky hills of California, reflects the project’s DNA: a product designed for no-compromise terrain.
The Graff RD is available at Miche retailers for a suggested retail price of €2,500, with a free warranty extension of up to four years.
