With the Filante SL ID2, Wilier Triestina aims to make the Filante experience accessible to a wider range of cyclists. Positioned as the entry-level model in this family, it incorporates some of the solutions developed for the Filante SLR ID2—particularly in terms of aerodynamics—while being designed for more versatile use.

The aerodynamic development was carried out in collaboration with the technical team at Groupama-FDJ United, using CFD simulations and wind tunnel testing at Silverstone. Wilier states that it focused on the entire system—comprising the bike, the rider, and its components—rather than just the frame.

Race-Oriented Geometry
The Filante SL ID2 features the same race-oriented geometry as the Filante SLR ID2. Wilier promises precise and stable handling at high speeds, while maintaining a certain ease during changes in pace.
The frame is also designed to meet modern riding needs. The tire clearance allows for tires up to 34 mm, while the bottom bracket is compatible with single-chainring drivetrains and the UDH standard.

The new R-Bar cockpit is also part of this evolution. It fully integrates the cables and features drops with a 3 cm flare, designed to improve ergonomics, control, and aerodynamics.

A Bike for Both Racing and Training
Wilier thus positions the Filante SL ID2 as a bike capable of being used for fast rides and competitions as well as for daily training or long-distance rides. The idea is to preserve the Filante’s “racing” character while offering greater versatility.
The bike is also compatible with the new Aerokit SL, a hydration system integrated into the frame to minimize its aerodynamic impact. For even greater efficiency, the Aerokit SLR is also compatible.
The Filante SL ID2 is available in four colors: Drive White, Pivot Grey, Pulse Red, and Flow Blue.

With this new model, Wilier aims to offer a more accessible version of its Filante without sacrificing the platform’s key features—aerodynamics, racing geometry, and integration—but with a design better suited to the diverse uses of modern cycling.
