DMT is expanding its gravel lineup with the Iaan, a shoe designed for riders looking for a versatile model capable of handling both trails and road sections. Its design combines a lightweight, breathable upper with an outsole engineered to provide greater traction and stability when the terrain becomes less rideable.
A Lightweight and Protective Upper
The upper combines various materials, including PA and TPU, to strike a good balance between lightness, flexibility, and durability. The forefoot features specific reinforcement at the toes, designed to better protect the foot from impacts encountered on trails and gravel routes.
DMT also highlights its Dimple Tech technology, which features microstructures integrated into the shoe’s surface. According to the brand, this design helps improve ventilation and moisture management while contributing to the shoe’s aerodynamics.
BOA Closure System and Versatile Outsole
The Iaan features a BOA Li2 closure system, with an asymmetrical placement designed to minimize pressure points on the instep and provide precise adjustment.
The outsole, made of nylon and TPU, features a specialized tread pattern with lugs designed to enhance traction and stability when the cyclist needs to walk or ride on uneven surfaces.
Available in sizes 37 through 46 (no half sizes), the Iaan has a listed weight of 310 g in size 42. It comes in the White/Lilac – Triple Sand colorway, priced at €279.
This model strikes a balance between comfort, protection, breathability, and versatility, with a design clearly geared toward gravel riding and rides on varied terrain.
