Scott Unveils Its New Addict Gravel

The new Scott Addict Gravel is designed for riders who like to let the road decide their route. Built for rides where you don’t know exactly where you’re going, it prioritizes comfort, stability, and the ability to adapt to varied terrain.

With 57 mm of tire clearance, it accommodates tires that are much wider than average, opening up access to trails that are more challenging than those typically tackled by a standard gravel bike. Equipped with 50 mm tires as standard, it offers an appealing balance between control, comfort, and stability. The chainstay, thinned to 8.5 mm, allows for this clearance without weighing down the frame or compromising responsiveness. The frame even accommodates 2.2" MTB tires, a testament to its versatility.

The focus on comfort is key: a curved fork, a reduced pivot, a redesigned cockpit… all of which provide 30% more compliance at the front. At the rear, the flex of the seat tube and seatstays improves vibration damping, with a 60% improvement over the previous generation. The bike is more forgiving, more stable, and allows for long rides without excessive fatigue.

The geometry has evolved slightly: stack +10 mm, reach +10 mm, and a shorter cockpit to maintain a natural riding position. The bottom bracket has been lowered and the rake increased to ensure precise handling despite the wider tires. The bike remains compact: the chainstays have not been lengthened.

Available in seven sizes, it mirrors the geometry of the Addict road model, making the transition easier for fans of the brand. Two carbon versions are offered: HMF, which is well-balanced, and HMX, which is lighter. Overall stiffness is slightly reduced (less than 5%) to improve traction and terrain feedback.

The bike features several practical solutions: a quiet internal storage compartment for repair tools, a kit hidden in the handlebar ends, and the Syncros Save the Day Kit in the downtube. A dedicated pannier can be attached to the top tube; it’s removable for those who prefer a clean, uncluttered look.

The gravel cockpit has been completely redesigned to improve handling, access to the shifters, and control through turns. The fork mounts, positioned inside the fork legs, allow you to carry water bottles without compromising aesthetics or handling. Finally, the weight remains reasonable: 794 g for the HMX frame, 990 g for the HMF, and complete bikes ranging from 7.8 to 8.7 kg depending on the version.
