BH has thoroughly revamped its iRS1. This new generation is based on a completely redesigned frame and the new SEG BLM assist system, developed by SEG Automotive and manufactured in Germany. The stated goal: to offer an e-bike capable of tackling long distances and steep climbs while maintaining handling characteristics similar to those of a traditional road bike.

A More Aerodynamic Carbon Frame
The new frame features Kamm Tail-style tube profiles to minimize aerodynamic drag. The fork has also been redesigned to improve airflow around the wheel. The shortened chainstays are intended to enhance the bike’s responsiveness and agility, while the slightly raised front geometry aims to provide greater comfort on long rides.

The frame accommodates tires up to 32 mm and features BH’s carbon technologies, including the Performance Carbon Layup and the HCIM (Hollow Core Internal Molding) process. The cable routing is fully integrated thanks to the ACR system, while the frame features a UDH derailleur hanger and 12-mm thru-axles with removable levers.
In its top-of-the-line iRS1 Carbon 1.6 version, the bike has a claimed weight of 12.9 kg, including the battery and electric system.

A 700 W SEG BLM motor with 80 Nm of torque
The main innovation, however, lies in the motor. The SEG BLM motor, developed by SEG Automotive, weighs 2.1 kg and delivers up to 700 W of maximum power and 80 Nm of torque.
The system uses torque, cadence, and speed sensors with contactless technology. Their sampling rate can reach 1,000 Hz, allowing the assistance to quickly adapt to variations in effort, changes in gradient, or acceleration.

BH also highlights the motor’s quiet operation as well as the absence of any perceptible resistance when the assistance is turned off.
Up to 810 Wh and a 190 km range
All models come with a built-in 630 Wh battery in the down tube. An additional 180 Wh XPro battery, shaped like a water bottle, brings the total capacity to 810 Wh.
Thanks to the Dual Discharge system, the two batteries can operate simultaneously or independently. BH claims a range of up to 150 km with the 630 Wh battery, and up to 190 km with both batteries, depending on riding conditions, route profile, assist mode, and rider weight.

Connected System
The SEG BLM system also features a display integrated directly into the top tube. It shows speed, assist level, range, power, cadence, and torque, among other metrics.
iButtons mounted on the handlebars allow you to change the assistance level without letting go of the handlebars. The SEG Connect app, which connects via Bluetooth, provides access to real-time data, diagnostics, and remote updates. It also lets you customize the different assistance modes.
Four models ranging from €3,699.90 to €6,999.90
The lineup includes four models. The top-of-the-line iRS1 Carbon 1.6 combines the SEG BLM motor with a Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivetrain and Vision TC45 carbon wheels. The Carbon 1.5 features a Shimano 105 Di2 groupset, while the Carbon 1.4 uses a mechanical Shimano 105 drivetrain.
Finally, the iRS1 1.2 swaps carbon for a hydroformed aluminum frame, still paired with the mechanical Shimano 105 groupset.
Prices range from €3,699.90 to €6,999.90. The carbon versions are available in four sizes, from SM to XL, while the iRS1 1.2 is offered in S, M, and L.
