The 2026 Vuelta a España begins on August 22 in Monaco. But right from the official team presentation, Lotto-Intermarché is turning heads with a fleet of eight bikes that are, to say the least, original: each rider will have a custom Orbea Orca Aero with a unique design.
These eight bikes were designed using MyOrbea Custom, Orbea’s customization program. It’s a way for the Basque brand to highlight the possibilities offered by its configurator, while demonstrating that customization and high-level performance can go hand in hand.
A Different Bike for Each Rider
While the eight Orca Aero bikes feature different designs, they all retain the technical specifications and performance required for top-level competition. The customization thus focuses primarily on colors and finishes, allowing each rider to have a bike with its own distinct identity.
This initiative also illustrates Orbea’s philosophy: to offer amateur cyclists the same customization options as those showcased on the WorldTour circuit. Technologies developed for competition thus remain accessible, while allowing riders to create a bike that better suits their personal tastes.
For the Vuelta, Lotto-Intermarché will also feature a special kit in a deeper shade of pink-red. This color was chosen to visually distinguish the team from the race leader’s red jersey. The eight Orca Aero bikes were designed to complement this new visual identity.

The Orca Aero Focuses on Speed
With its new Orca Aero, Orbea champions a holistic approach to aerodynamics. Beyond the work done on the frame, the brand has sought to optimize the bike-rider system as a whole in order to more efficiently convert power into speed.
The result is presented as a machine designed for real-world racing conditions and to meet the demands of modern professional cycling.
At the Vuelta, this philosophy will take on a particularly visible form with eight different liveries, developed at Orbea’s facilities in Mallabia, in the Basque Country.
This series of custom bikes will be one of the visual hallmarks of Lotto-Intermarché at the 2026 Vuelta. Eight different bikes, but one common goal: to have a bike designed for top-level performance, while showcasing each rider’s unique identity.
