Trek is introducing a new generation of its Domane, its endurance road bike. For this fifth generation, the American manufacturer has thoroughly revamped the platform with a lighter frame, a streamlined silhouette, and a new approach to comfort. The Domane also retains its Endurance geometry and gains the ability to handle rough roads and even light gravel trails.

A carbon frame that’s 305 g lighter
The main change involves the frame design. Thanks to a revised architecture and the use of OCLV carbon, the new Domane SLR weighs 305 g less than the previous generation, when comparing equivalent frame models.

Trek takes weight savings even further on the Domane SLR 9 AXS 1x Gen 5. This complete bike is approximately 950 g lighter than the lightest build of the previous generation.
This quest to shave off every gram is accompanied by a cleaner design. Trek has abandoned some of the complex solutions from the previous generation in favor of a more classic design, while maintaining current standards for integration and compatibility.

IsoSpeed is gone, but comfort remains
This is one of the major changes in this new generation: the IsoSpeed system is gone from the Domane.
Trek claims, however, to have succeeded in maintaining a level of comfort close to that of the previous model thanks to improvements in the carbon construction, the use of higher-volume tires, and a new seatpost capable of flexing vertically to absorb some of the road vibrations.
According to the manufacturer’s measurements, the new Domane thus remains within 5% of the previous generation’s vibration performance when equipped with the bike’s recommended tires.
The cockpit has also been updated with a new, raised handlebar that adds 20 mm of height. This allows for a slightly higher riding position without adding more spacers or making the front of the bike look bulkier.

Up to 40 mm tire width
The new Domane also gains in versatility. Its tire clearance now allows for tires up to 40 mm wide, offering greater comfort, traction, and safety when road conditions deteriorate.
This capability allows the bike to venture beyond paved roads onto gravel paths or light gravel sections.
Trek’s Endurance geometry remains unchanged. It prioritizes a slightly more upright riding position and stable handling, especially during rides lasting several hours.
The frame also features several mounting points for accessories such as a top-tube or frame bag, as well as fenders. The Domane is thus designed to handle everything from long, sporty rides to endurance routes and multi-day adventures.
Two trim levels: Domane SL and SLR
Trek has also streamlined the lineup around two main families. The Domane SL is the most affordable carbon model. The Domane SLR represents the top of the lineup, featuring higher-end builds and access to Project One customization options.

With Project One, Trek lets you choose the paint finish, components, handlebar width, and crank length. The manufacturer also offers different build options, ranging from a focus on minimal weight to a configuration geared more toward aerodynamics.
A Limited Edition for Trek’s 50th Anniversary
The new Domane also features the return of the Project One ICON No. 76 colorway, developed to celebrate Trek’s 50th anniversary.
This special edition will be limited to 124 units worldwide and will feature custom wheels as well as several finishes designed specifically for this anniversary.
The new carbon Domane is now available at select Trek stores and on the brand’s website.
