The COROS platform continues to evolve with a new update to its app and the firmware for its smartwatches. This August 2026 release introduces several highly anticipated features, with the goal of providing more accurate tracking of performance, recovery, and daily health data.

Live Tracking Comes to COROS

The main new feature is the introduction of Live Tracking, a function that now allows family, friends, or supporters to track a user’s location in real time during an activity.

Whether on a bike ride, a running workout, or a hike, authorized contacts can view the athlete’s progress as well as certain statistics related to the activity. This feature is designed to enhance safety during solo outings, as well as to make it easier to share your workouts.

More Comprehensive Sleep Tracking

COROS is also improving its sleep analysis with a major upgrade to its recovery tools. The goal is to better understand the quality of rest and its impact on physical conditioning.

This new version notably adds:

  • Sleep consistency, to assess the regularity of sleep schedules
  • Sleep stress, to analyze periods of nighttime disruption
  • A sleep score that provides an overview of recovery
  • The ability to edit sleep data to correct certain recorded information

These new metrics complement COROS’s approach to tracking training load and recovery.

Heart rate now features a new interface

The heart rate widget has also been updated with a redesigned layout that’s more focused on analysis.

The data is now organized into three main categories:

  • Daily
  • Sleep
  • Exercise

This makes it easier for users to view heart rate trends over several days, weeks, or months, as well as track fluctuations throughout the day using the detailed daily heart rate graph.

This new organization should make it easier to quickly identify changes related to training, rest, or shifts in habits.

Other Improvements on the Horizon

In addition to these new features, the August 2026 update includes several additional optimizations designed to enhance the overall experience across the COROS ecosystem, both within the app and in the operation of compatible devices.

A beta version is already available

The update will be available soon via the iOS and Android app stores. However, users who want to test the new features early can access the beta version right now.

On iOS, follow these steps:

  • Install the latest public version of the COROS app from the App Store
  • Download the TestFlight app
  • Join the COROS beta group
  • Accept the invitation and update via TestFlight
  • Update the device’s firmware

On Android, you need to:

  • Install the COROS Android beta app
  • Join the beta group
  • Update the watch’s firmware

With this latest update, COROS continues to expand its ecosystem by strengthening three essential pillars for athletes: activity sharing, recovery, and physiological data analysis.
