Selle Italia is expanding its renowned SLR line with a new model designed for gravel riding. Called the SLR Gravel, this version features the design of the fourth-generation SLR while incorporating specific features designed to enhance comfort, control, and durability on rough terrain.

Designed to meet the demands of long rides on trails and paths, the SLR Gravel retains the range’s sporty DNA while evolving its design to better absorb the vibrations generated by gravel riding.
One of the main new features is the adoption of the Bow Rail System, a proprietary technology from Selle Italia that combines the rails and the shell to increase the saddle’s flexibility. Already used on other models from the brand, this solution makes its debut on the SLR and aims to improve shock and vibration absorption. It is paired with new Shock Absorbers specifically developed for the demands of off-road riding, to provide a smoother pedaling experience and better control.
To enhance comfort, Selle Italia has also redesigned the padding, which is now more generous, while slightly widening the front of the saddle. The overall dimensions, however, remain identical to those of other SLR models, allowing users to maintain their usual reference points.
The new SLR Gravel also features a removable insert that closes off the central Superflow opening. This component, developed based on rider feedback, helps prevent water and mud from splashing onto cycling shorts during rides in inclement weather. It can be easily removed to restore the open configuration.
The saddle also features side reinforcements designed to better withstand impacts and abrasion, as well as reflective inserts to improve visibility as light fades.
Available in two sizes (S3 and L3), the SLR Gravel comes in two versions:
- SLR Gravel Elite: lightweight Ø7 mm tubular steel rails, 195 g (S3) or 208 g (L3), suggested retail price of €199.90.
- SLR Gravel Advan: Ø7 mm tubular steel rails, 214 g (S3) or 221 g (L3), suggested retail price of €124.90.
With this new lineup, Selle Italia adapts one of its most iconic saddles to the needs of gravel riders, emphasizing vibration absorption, protection from the elements, and durability on the most demanding terrain.
