In exactly one month, the best triathletes and long-distance enthusiasts will gather in Embrun for the 2026 Embrunman. On August 15, the town in the Hautes-Alpes will once again come alive with the excitement of this legendary event, which over the decades has become a benchmark in international triathlon.
For this 42nd edition, participants will tackle a 3.8-kilometer swim, a 186-kilometer bike ride, and a 42.195-kilometer marathon on a course renowned for its extreme difficulty. The highlight of the race: the legendary climb up the Col de l’Izoard, one of the most iconic mountain passes in the French Alps.
One of the Most Demanding Challenges in the World
The Embrunman owes its reputation to a course that is as spectacular as it is unforgiving. With more than 5,400 meters of cumulative elevation gain across the cycling and running segments, competitors face a challenge that tests both their physical endurance and mental strength.
