This special edition will take center stage during Stage 10 of the 2026 Tour de France, where the Picnic PostNL team will ride this unique frame on France’s National Day. For the occasion, Lapierre is introducing a brand-new colorway, Kinetic Dust, conceived as a visual metaphor for the emotional traces left by performance. The design features a dispersion of particles whose density increases in the areas subjected to the most stress: the bottom bracket, fork, and seatstay-top tube junction.

Three symbolic colors bring this finish to life: dark blue for heritage, teal for transforming pain into momentum, and champagne for the joy of victory. Technically, the frame is based on the 5th generation of the Xelius DRS, proven on the WorldTour and optimized for competition. It incorporates the brand’s signature 3D Tubular technology for superior comfort.

Built from UD Factory Lab carbon, it has a gross weight of 740 g and offers a 15% improvement in aerodynamics compared to the Xelius SL3. This anniversary edition pays tribute to Lapierre’s history, which began in 1946 in Dijon under the leadership of Gaston Lapierre. The brand has evolved from sturdy utility bikes to cutting-edge technologies, revolutionizing mountain biking with FPS suspension and later becoming a pioneer in high-end e-MTBs.

Lapierre also made its mark on road cycling by launching its first carbon frames in the early 2000s, which were quickly adopted in major races. The Xelius, introduced in 2010, has since claimed victories in all three Grand Tours and has continued to evolve thanks to the work of engineers in Burgundy. For Dorian Tabeau, the brand’s global manager, this anniversary frame captures “the raw and emotional reality of cycling.” The Kinetic Dust graphic symbolizes the transition from pain to momentum, a philosophy dear to Lapierre for 80 years. The Xelius DRS 80th Anniversary frames are available in sizes S, M, and L, priced at €4,499.
A limited edition, designed as a tribute to Lapierre’s history, performance, and French identity.
