Q36.5 took advantage of the IRONMAN European Championships in Frankfurt to unveil the prototype of its new Tri Skinsuit, developed in collaboration with Casper Stornes. This suit marks a key milestone in the Italian brand’s R&D program and is designed to perform under the most extreme conditions.

Born out of a collaboration launched in 2025, it is part of a future line of skinsuits tailored to different environments and race profiles. For Frankfurt, Stornes had three versions to choose from and selected the one optimized for the intense heat on race day. The Tri Skinsuit is based on ultra-precise body mapping, incorporating six different fabrics positioned according to physiological needs.
The goal: to maximize thermoregulation, heat dissipation, moisture management, and drying speed.
Q36.5 has also incorporated an updated version of the Dottore Pro chamois, specially redesigned for long-distance triathlons.
The suit features a back zipper, an internal chest pocket, and a dedicated aerodynamic design. Wind tunnel tests show a notable aerodynamic gain compared to Stornes’ previous suits. But for Q36.5, performance isn’t limited to drag: the brand points out that an overheating body loses up to 10 to 15 W per degree. The Frankfurt race, shortened due to the heat, served as a real-world test. Stornes ran with the suit fully zipped up, validating its thermal efficiency despite extreme temperatures. He highlights the comfort he experienced and the usefulness of the chest pocket, which is perfect for slipping in ice cubes during intense exertion. Luigi Bergamo, founder of Q36.5, emphasizes that keeping the suit zipped up optimizes heat dissipation and moisture evaporation.
The prototype also introduces a new version of the Lava graphic pattern, customized for Stornes. This visual identity will be available to the general public by the end of the summer. With this launch, Q36.5 reaffirms its ambition: to push the boundaries of triathlon apparel. A suit designed to feel like a second skin, capable of delivering top performance from the first kilometer to the last. A prototype that heralds a new generation of high-performance gear.
