Good news for owners of Giant or Liv bikes equipped with the OverDrive Aero fork pivot system: the new Contact SLR 0 Aero and Contact SLR 1 Aero one-piece carbon handlebar sets aren’t limited to the latest models. Thanks to their broad compatibility, they can also be installed on several previous generations of bikes.

This backward compatibility allows users to upgrade their bikes by enjoying a more integrated, higher-performance, and more comfortable cockpit, without necessarily having to change their frame.

Expanded compatibility with multiple generations of Giant and Liv bikes

The new Contact SLR Aero handlebar and stem sets are compatible with:

  • 2023-generation Giant Propel models equipped with the OverDrive Aero fork pivot
  • Giant TCR Advanced SL and TCR Advanced Pro models equipped with the new OverDrive Aero steerer tube, available since late 2024
  • 2023-generation Liv EnviLiv models equipped with the OverDrive Aero fork pivot
  • Liv Langma Advanced SL and Liv Langma Advanced Pro models equipped with the new OverDrive Aero steerer tube, available since late 2024

Contact SLR Aero: a carbon cockpit designed for performance

Available in several configurations, the Contact SLR Aero cockpits offer handlebar widths ranging from 360 to 440 mm and stem lengths ranging from 80 to 120 mm.

Their geometry has been engineered to strike a balance between handling precision and comfort:

  • 4.8° flare on the 360 and 380 mm widths
  • 7.3° flare on 400, 420, and 440 mm widths
  • Reach: 72 mm
  • Drop: 125 mm

Beyond their sleek design, these one-piece carbon cockpits deliver tangible benefits to the bike’s handling. Their construction enhances the stiffness of the handlebar-stem assembly, resulting in more precise steering and better responsiveness during acceleration and sprints.

The carbon design also helps further dampen vibrations transmitted from the front of the bike, for a more comfortable ride, whether on long rides or on rougher roads.

Contact SLR 0 Aero: Maximum Integration

The Contact SLR 0 Aero represents the most advanced solution in terms of integration. Cables, hoses, and housings run directly through the cockpit, completely disappearing from view.

This design offers a particularly clean and aerodynamically optimized cockpit. It’s designed for cyclists seeking the highest level of integration, minimal weight, and who use exclusively electronic drivetrains.

  • Weight: 286 g (420 x 100 mm configuration)
  • Suggested retail price: €599

Contact SLR 1 Aero: Simplified Integration and Maximum Compatibility

The Contact SLR 1 Aero offers a more accessible approach thanks to semi-integrated cable routing. The cables are routed through a specially designed groove under the handlebars before connecting to the frame.

This solution also makes maintenance easier: when replacing the handlebar and stem assembly, there’s no need to remove the brake levers, which minimizes the need to work on the braking system.

Compatible with both electronic and mechanical drivetrains, it’s a versatile option for cyclists looking to upgrade their bike while maintaining ease of use.

  • Weight: 350 g (420 x 110 mm configuration)
  • Suggested retail price: €449
