Team Movistar Unveils Its Special 2026 Tour de France Jersey

Barcelona is set to write a new chapter in cycling history by hosting the Grand Départ of the Tour de France. This major event will see the world’s most prestigious cycling race set off from the streets of the Catalan capital, famous for its architectural heritage, cultural richness, and inspirational spirit. To celebrate this historic edition, Movistar Team has unveiled the exclusive jersey that its riders will wear throughout the 2026 Tour de France.

This jersey pays tribute to Barcelona and two of its most iconic symbols: Antoni Gaudí and the Sagrada Família. This choice is by no means coincidental. The year 2026 marks the centennial of Gaudí’s death, whose legacy continues to embody creativity, innovation, and the constant pursuit of excellence.

These are values also championed by Movistar Team, the oldest team in the professional peloton still in active competition. The jersey’s design draws inspiration from the shapes, textures, and geometric patterns that characterize the Sagrada Família, one of the world’s most famous monuments and a true icon of Barcelona.

The result is a kit that blends sport, culture, and regional identity, marking a Tour de France that holds special significance for Spanish cycling.

As the only Spanish team competing in the UCI WorldTour, Movistar Team considers this Grand Départ in Barcelona a highlight of its history. This jersey illustrates the connection between the host city of the start and the team that represents Spain at the highest level of world cycling.

“Our challenge was to translate an architectural icon into a visual language capable of coming to life on a jersey in motion. We explored light, transparency, and geometric patterns inspired by the Sagrada Família to create a design that reveals new details depending on the viewing angle. The result is a jersey that pays homage to Barcelona while preserving the sporting identity and performance requirements necessary for high-level competition,” says Alberto García, co-founder of Gobik.
