Northwave adds a new chapter to its off-road history with the Striker, a shoe designed for a variety of terrains, from cross-country to marathons and gravel riding. It follows in the footsteps of models that have accompanied the great names in mountain biking, while offering a more versatile approach for today’s cyclists.

The Striker aims for a rare balance: stiff enough to respond to accelerations, yet comfortable enough for long days in the saddle. The Wide Fit version further expands the possibilities, with a more generous internal volume for feet that need extra space. At the heart of the shoe, the Carbon XC 12 sole ensures efficient power transfer, complemented by TPU inserts that provide stability during foot strikes. Ventilation has been a key focus: integrated air channels, optimized thermal management, and a mesh tongue to keep feet cool.

The upper features heat-welded TPU reinforcements, designed to withstand the rigors of off-road terrain without adding weight to the shoe. Heel support has been reinforced to stabilize the foot, even when the terrain gets rough or fatigue sets in. The closure system uses a dual X-Dial SLW3 mechanism, allowing for precise, independent adjustment of the forefoot and instep. The Striker is designed to be just as comfortable on a race as on a long ride with friends—for cyclists who love to ride without watching the clock.

The Wide Fit version offers the same qualities but with a roomier forefoot for enhanced comfort. Weighing in at 364 g, it remains in the category of high-performance shoes without sacrificing durability. Color options range from subdued tones to black/gray, with dedicated options for the Wide Fit. Priced at €209.99, it positions itself as a versatile and serious off-road shoe. In short, the Striker embodies the Northwave spirit: effective when the pace picks up, comfortable as the kilometers pile up.
