This update is based on a strong trend observed by the platform: strength training is now among the most dynamic activities on Strava, with over 400 million sessions recorded in 2025.
Among the main new features, Strava introduces a training log allowing users to precisely record sets, repetitions, and loads used over the course of their sessions. The application also automatically generates visual muscle maps highlighting the muscle groups targeted according to the exercises performed.
To enrich the experience, Strava is also further opening its ecosystem with 14 partner integrations, including Garmin, COROS, WHOOP, Fitbod, and Hevy. Users will be able to automatically import their training data from their compatible applications and devices.
The platform is also launching five new sharing formats dedicated to strength training to make gym performances more visible within its community, just like outdoor activities such as running or cycling.
« Strength training has been one of the fastest-growing sports on Strava for several years », explains Matt Salazar. According to him, this evolution aims to bring « the same depth, motivation, and social dimension » to strength training as to other activities already popular on the application.
The global rollout of this new strength training experience is planned for the coming weeks.
