Established as a major stage of the Ultracycling World Championship, the event attracts endurance enthusiasts, seasoned athletes, and iconic figures from motorsports and professional cycling every year. A premier sporting and tourism showcase for Corsica, just as the peak summer season begins.
An Immersion into the Heart of Corsican Landscapes
The BikingMan Corsica route winds through some of the most beautiful scenery on the “Island of Beauty.” Between scenic roads, hilltop villages, centuries-old forests, and wild coastlines, participants will enjoy a unique experience, far removed from traditional competition formats.
The organizers promise an exploration “off the beaten path,” combining athletic performance with the discovery of the region. Each route has been designed to offer a total immersion in Corsica’s landscapes, which are as challenging as they are spectacular.
Three event formats on the program
For the 2026 edition, three events will be offered to competitors:
- The 1,000 km, a historic event
For its 9th edition, the well-established BikingMan format remains the championship’s flagship event. An extreme endurance challenge reserved for seasoned ultracyclists.
- The Half 500 km
A major new addition to this edition, this more accessible format will allow participants to discover ultracycling on a route connecting Porto-Vecchio to Bastia.
- The 555 Gravel South-North
This 500-km route will showcase the island’s trails and gravel sections, featuring several timed special stages set amidst nature.

Champions and Sports Legends at the Start
The BikingMan Corsica also stands out for the diversity of participants at the starting line. The organizers emphasize a spirit similar to that of the famous Burning Man festival: a gathering where elite athletes, adventurers, and enthusiasts from very different backgrounds come together.
Notable participants include:
- Louis Défaut
- Laurianne Plaçais
- Rémi Borrion
- François Delecour
- Jean-Michel Bayle
Former professional drivers and racers will also take on the challenge, including Cyril Esquirol and Jean Guérin.
“A life-changing experience”
For Axel Carion, the BikingMan goes far beyond the scope of a simple sporting competition.
“This event isn’t just a race. It’s a unique exploration of the island’s most beautiful treasures by bike—a transformative experience where every ultracyclist sees their humanity shine like a diamond.”
As the kilometers unfold, participants will have to battle fatigue, Corsica’s rugged terrain, and the complete self-sufficiency required by the event. It’s a physical and mental challenge that has earned the championship its worldwide reputation.
