St Michel – PREFERENCE HOME – Auber93 is betting on women’s cycling and turning a new page in its history

CM AUBERVILLIERS 93 Cycling is opening a new chapter in its history. In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Seine-Saint-Denis-based club announced that, starting in 2027, it will focus all of its resources on a single professional team: its women’s squad, currently registered as a UCI Women’s ProTeam.

A historic figure in French cycling for over 70 years, the Aubervilliers club has left its mark on several generations. After excelling among the top amateur teams in the 1980s and 1990s, it achieved professional status in men’s cycling in 1994, before launching its professional women’s team in 2022.

Faced with the evolution of modern cycling and ever-increasing athletic and economic demands, CMA93 now believes it is necessary to rethink its business model. The club thus aims to strengthen a project deemed more sustainable and ambitious centered on women’s cycling.

In other words, the men’s professional team, St Michel – PREFERENCE HOME – Auber93, which has competed in the Continentale division for over 30 years, will disband at the end of the 2026 season.

“Refocusing our Pro division’s activities on women’s cycling will allow us to move forward with additional resources, renewed energy, and clear ambitions,” explains Stephan Gaudry in the press release.

This reorganization is part of a broader roadmap, with the goal of making the women’s team the driving force of the club. At the same time, the amateur division will be restructured around training and development initiatives.

The club is thus turning an important page in its history of men’s professional cycling, marked notably by five appearances in the Tour de France and a stage victory in the Grande Boucle. But for CMA93, the adventure continues with a new priority: promoting women’s cycling at the highest level.
