Developed in partnership with International Doping Tests & Management (IDTM), the system provides for urine, blood, and dried blood spot tests for certain riders participating in the platform’s major competitions, such as the Sunday Race Club and the MyWhoosh Championship.
Selected athletes may be tested before, during, or after a race. They will have to remain available for up to three hours after the event to allow for sample collection by accredited agents. Selection may be random, results-based, or based on performance analysis.
To establish its regulatory framework, MyWhoosh will rely on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List of Substances and Methods. The stated objective is to strengthen confidence in cycling e-sports and to protect athletes who respect the rules.
According to Matt Smithson, MyWhoosh’s Director of Esports and Gaming Operations, this program aims to ensure fair competition as the platform’s events grow in importance and prize money.
This new policy complements the verification tools already used by MyWhoosh to control participants’ equipment, software, and performance data.
