RAR introduces its new EVEN Generation 3 wheel

RAR unveils the EVEN Generation 3, a major evolution of its iconic wheel launched in 2011. Already renowned for its performance-to-price ratio and modularity, the new version pushes technical boundaries even further.

The rim has been completely redesigned: for the first time, it features a UD fiber construction combining T1000 and M40J. The result: a 3% increase in lateral stiffness and a 10% reduction in weight compared to Gen. 2. A stronger, lighter, faster foundation. In terms of dimensions, the internal width has increased from 22 mm to 24 mm, and the external width from 29 mm to 30.9 mm. This is a key change designed to optimize aerodynamics with tires ranging from 28 to 32 mm. The rounded profile improves airflow management and reduces sidewind drag. The rotating mass has been reduced by 80 g, representing a 5% decrease in inertia. On the road, this translates to sharper accelerations and a significantly more dynamic feel. The EVEN 5.3 now weighs just 1,335 g in its highest-performance configuration.

The new VECTOR hub replaces the FIRST, saving 5 g and, more importantly, providing 7% more lateral stiffness thanks to optimized geometry. Its mechanics remain proven, with a sound that can be customized depending on the spring selected. RAR also relies on ultra-thin elliptical stainless steel spokes, which are far more aerodynamic than wide carbon spokes. Their reliability and simplified maintenance make them a choice firmly focused on performance. As always, assembly is 100% handcrafted, with a tension tolerance of just ±2.5%, ensuring durability and precision.

In summary: Generation 3 is not just an update, but a technological leap forward. Wider, stiffer, lighter, faster—it outperforms Generation 2 in every measurable aspect. RAR thus reaffirms its status as a French artisan-engineer, capable of competing with the industry leaders while guaranteeing every wheel… for life.
