The objective is clear: to make cycling tourism accessible to all by pooling the expertise, resources, and networks of both federations. This rapprochement is part of a common desire to remove barriers to participation and promote a more inclusive vision of sport.
Three priority areas
This partnership is based on three main priorities. First, to facilitate access to the activity through adapted membership conditions and licenses, as well as specific support for tandem riders and clubs. Second, to develop a truly inclusive practice, by adapting technical and safety rules, strengthening the training of supervisors, and promoting access to adapted equipment. Finally, to promote cycling tourism for all, by raising awareness among clubs, the general public, and local authorities about the importance of inclusion in sport.
Concrete actions to come
The agreement provides for the implementation of joint actions and training, the development of adapted infrastructure, as well as dedicated communication campaigns. A mixed national commission, composed of representatives from both federations, will be responsible for monitoring the partnership and proposing new initiatives each year.
By joining forces, the French Cycling Tourism Federation and the French Handisport Federation reaffirm their conviction: sport is a powerful lever for inclusion and social connection. This partnership marks an important step towards more open cycling tourism, characterized by conviviality, safety, and respect for differences.
