Roval Introduces Terra Aero CLX and Terra CLX III Wheels

Roval Unveils Terra Aero CLX and Terra CLX III, a New Generation of Wheels Designed to Redefine Gravel Performance.

Source: press release

Facing the rapid evolution of races – faster, more demanding, more brutal – the brand has developed a family of wheels capable of combining aerodynamics, lightness, and robustness.

The Terra Aero CLX stand out with their chopped aero profile, a unique truncated airfoil that offers up to 5.84 watts of gain compared to the Terra CLX II.
This flat shape, visually surprising, delivers the efficiency of a 70 mm road wheel while maintaining the stability necessary for Gravel. More than 300 profiles were modeled in CFD, integrating tires, frame, and real turbulence to optimize airflow in all conditions.
The new rims adopt an external width of 38.5 mm to function as a true tire-wheel system with tire widths from 35 to 60 mm.
ARRIS composite spokes, lighter and more aerodynamic than steel, complete this high-performance setup.

For their part, the Terra CLX III focus on extreme lightness: only 1,079 g per pair, with a 21.52% gain in lateral compliance. They offer superior control on harsh terrain, while maintaining rigidity suitable for accelerations. Both models incorporate widened rim hooks – up to 5.38 mm – to drastically reduce the risk of pinch flats. Roval announces a 91% improvement in puncture resistance compared to the previous generation.

Wind tunnel and real-world tests have validated these performances, particularly with Tracer 45 tires. The Terra Aero CLX target riders seeking maximum speed on long, exposed straightaways. The Terra CLX III are aimed at climbers, technical descenders, and enthusiasts of aggressive Gravel riding. Both models have been proven in the biggest events: Unbound, Big Sugar, Gravel Worlds, and UCI races.
