Giro Unveils Imperial All-Season: The All-Season Road Shoes

Giro Sport Design today announces the launch of the Imperial™ All-Season (AS), a new-generation road cycling shoe, designed to combine performance, comfort, and protection, whatever the weather.

Developed in collaboration with Giro-equipped WorldTour professional racers, including Paul Seixas and Biniam Girmay, as well as the brand’s shoe development team based in Annecy, France, the Imperial AS draws on the experience and feedback from athletes to push the boundaries of road performance.

« At Giro, we work hand-in-hand with our athletes to optimize every detail. The contributions of climbers, sprinters, and general classification contenders – such as Thymen Arensman, Jay Vine, Paul Seixas, and Biniam Girmay – have made it possible to design the Imperial AS to tackle the toughest spring conditions while ensuring essential power transfer and support in competition. This collaboration ensures all cyclists have the best possible shoes when performance is crucial », explains Raphael Dale, Director of Footwear Development at Giro Sport Design.

A Proven Platform for Consistent Comfort and Performance

Building on the legacy of the Imperial II, the Imperial AS features a redesigned upper to adapt to early-season training, mid-season races, and wet roads. It shares the same carbon fiber outsole as the Imperial II and Empire SLX II, thus offering consistent stiffness across all three models. Racers can choose the model that best suits their needs and conditions, without compromising comfort or feel.

The carbon fiber sole ensures optimal stiffness and efficient pedaling while remaining lightweight, ideal for training and competitions throughout the year.

Cutting-Edge Technology for All-Season Cycling

At the heart of the Imperial AS is a thermo-bonded two-layer upper, combining a chain mesh and a 0.25 mm TPU membrane. This design offers a perfect balance between breathability, weather resistance, and structural support. The BOA® Fit System Li2 closure system, with its dual Boa dials and machined aluminum micro-adjustments, allows for precise and rapid adjustment, even during a race.

« Every detail counts at the WorldTour level. Shoes are essential for performance, and I am delighted to collaborate with Giro to continue perfecting them », emphasizes Biniam Girmay, a professional cyclist sponsored by Giro.

From Professional Athletes to Your Inspiration

The Imperial AS will be worn throughout the 2026 season by racers such as Kasia Niewiadoma, Paul Seixas, Jay Vine, Thymen Arensman, and Biniam Girmay, confirming Giro’s commitment to offering high-end road shoes designed for the demands of the highest level.
