Bike Shopping of the Week: Our Selection for 03/06/2026

Coinciding with the arrival of high temperatures for the season, manufacturers are currently offering many new products. Among them, BMC is refining one of its top-of-the-range models, Liv is launching its women’s version of the new Giant Propel with the EnviLiv, Hutchinson is getting ahead of the curve for a future with larger tire widths, as is Pirelli, which even recommends 35 mm for road use, while Aeron is investing in a neighboring sector, that of inner tubes. Furthermore, Thule is developing a mounting system and Zéfal is filling a gap concerning mini pumps by allowing high pressures. An overview of this week’s cycling advancements.

BMC improves the Team Machine range bikes

The BMC Team Machine SLR family redefines lightness and aerodynamics with a frame offering the best stiffness-to-weight ratio and high-level handling. Designed for racing, it combines stiffness, aerodynamics, power transfer, confidence, and low weight. The range expands with the “01 Premium”, “01 Pro”, and “Advanced” models, suitable for all budgets. The new SLR is 16% lighter while retaining 100% of the Team Machine R 01’s stiffness, thanks to optimized carbon materials and a refined design. The Pro and Advanced versions make this performance more accessible, with different finishes and electronic or mechanical compatibilities. Aerodynamics, TCC comfort, precise geometry, new derailleur standards, and cockpit/seatpost compatibility complete this evolution.

The Liv EnviLiv follows in the footsteps of the new Giant Propel

Alongside the all-new Giant Propel, sister brand Liv is launching the new generation of the EnviLiv, pushing the boundaries of aerodynamic performance for the most demanding female competitors. Dedicated to women and designed to maximize speed in real racing conditions, this bike benefits from a global aerodynamic approach integrating frame, fork, cockpit, wheels, and rider position. Compared to the Propel, it benefits from a different carbon layup, so that the stiffness is adapted to the power of female cyclists. The new chassis also gains versatility with lowered seatstays replacing the previous design, allowing for a lighter frame and a better balance between stiffness, efficiency, and performance. Finally, the integrated cockpit improves vibration filtering and comfort, helping riders maintain high speed longer while limiting fatigue. The Liv EnviLiv thus establishes itself as a true racing machine, designed to perform in all situations. Price: €12,400 for the Liv EnviLiv Advanced SL 0 in SRAM Red, and from €3,000 for the Liv Enviliv Advanced 2 in Shimano 150. Contact: liv-cycling.com

Hutchinson bets on wider tire widths for more performance

Hutchinson expands its Blackbird range with 32 and 34 mm tubeless tires, faster, more comfortable, and grippier than narrow tire widths. Laboratory tests show an average 5% reduction in rolling resistance compared to 30 mm tires. These wider tire widths also improve comfort thanks to lower pressures and reinforce cornering stability. The 32 mm becomes the new performance benchmark, while the 34 mm targets training and difficult roads. Combined with modern rims, these tires maintain excellent aerodynamic profile while offering speed, safety, and control.

Aeron redefines its high-end inner tube

Aeron renews high-performance inner tubes thanks to optimized TPU and an engineered design. Its aluminum valves improve reliability and compatibility, while the 21 g SuperLite model significantly reduces rotating mass. The multi-layer structure offers resistance close to tubeless without its constraints. Three ranges (SuperLite Race, ExtraLite Protect, UltraProtect) cover road, Gravel, and MTB. 100% recyclable TPU places Aeron in a sustainable approach.

Pirelli bets on a 35 mm tire width (for road)

Pirelli recently enriched its cycling offer with new high-performance tires, all developed and produced in Italy. These models aim to offer an optimal balance between performance, efficiency, and reliability in the most demanding conditions. In road cycling, the current trend raises questions: is 35 mm becoming the new performance standard? This tire width, made possible by the evolution of wider frames and rims, improves comfort, control, and real-world performance on imperfect roads. Pirelli already offers this dimension on models such as the Cinturato Evo and the P Zero Race TLR RS, the latter having obtained the maximum rating from Bicycle Rolling Resistance.

Thule offers a universal mounting system

Thule unveils InLock, a universal, fast, and silent mounting system, allowing bags to be installed on most bike racks. It simplifies daily use with an intuitive gesture: slide, lock, go. By removing the entire mechanism from the bag to leave it on the bike, Thule offers lighter, more comfortable, and pleasant-to-carry bags once dismounted. The InLock panel adapts to most bike racks or integrates perfectly with the Thule Tour Rack. The new Shield and Chasm collections use a flexible textile panel, guaranteeing a clean, secure, and versatile solution for everyday use.

Zéfal offers a mini pump that goes up to 9 bars

The Zéfal Adventure is a compact pump offering the power of a floor pump, thanks to its ergonomic handle, long hose, and Presta/Schrader lever connector. Its 300 mm size and universal clip allow for easy transport on the bike or in a bag. Constructed from aluminum and machined in France, it combines robustness, precision, and durability. It reaches 9 bars and is suitable for all types of tires, for daily use as well as ultra-distance. This model symbolizes Zéfal’s return to quality local production, based on expertise.
