SCOTT Scale RC Aero: Dangerholm’s take on aero gravel

Swedish custom builder Dangerholm unveils a unique concept blending road DNA and off-road capabilities: the SCOTT Scale RC Aero. The idea? To merge the efficiency and position of the SCOTT Addict Gravel with the robustness of the SCOTT Scale Gravel, while adding a strong dose of aerodynamics inspired by the SCOTT Foil RC.

A radical hybrid frame

Based on a Scale Gravel, the frame has been deeply modified with the integration of the Foil RC’s seat tube section. The carbon has been reworked to optimize aero performance and allow for the mounting of a chainring up to 46 teeth. The fork has been streamlined to accentuate the minimalist line.

High-end cockpit and components

The bike features a SRAM RED XPLR 13-speed drivetrain with an optimized CeramicSpeed derailleur, an ultra-light WERT titanium crankset, and SRAM RED E1 levers. The Darimo cockpit and Syncros Aero seatpost enhance integration, with an integrated taillight in the style of F1.

XXL aero wheels for MTB tires

A highlight of the project: ultra-wide prototype wheels (45 mm internal width, 70 mm deep) developed in Canada, designed for 2.25” tires. The objective: to ride at low pressure to gain comfort and speed on very harsh terrain, where a classic gravel bike shows its limits.

With this Scale RC Aero, Dangerholm pushes the boundaries of performance gravel by imagining a bike designed to remain fast when the terrain becomes extreme.
