It is with deep emotion that Giant Group announces the passing of its founder, Mr. King Liu, who passed away peacefully in the early hours of February 16th, at the age of 93.

Founder of Giant Group in Taiwan in 1972, King Liu dedicated his life to the development and influence of the company. Under his impetus, and thanks to a constant commitment to quality as well as a long-term strategic vision, Giant Group established itself as a major player in the global cycling industry. He largely contributed to the international recognition of the excellence and expertise of the Taiwanese bicycle industry.
Beyond his role as an entrepreneur, King Liu was driven by a deep conviction: cycling represents much more than an economic activity; it embodies a true art of living. A committed advocate of cycling culture, he left a lasting mark on several generations of employees, partners, and riders around the world.
As this announcement comes during the Lunar New Year period, Giant Group wishes to share this news with the same humility and discretion that always characterized Mr. Liu. Details of tributes and subsequent arrangements will be communicated later, in accordance with the family’s wishes.
