The Spanish brand Megamo unveils Megamo Gravel Racing, a new sports structure entirely dedicated to gravel and women’s cycling. Based in Girona, the brand’s historic birthplace, this initiative marks a new step in Megamo’s commitment to competition and product innovation.
A project built on continuity
Megamo Gravel Racing is not a mere experiment. It is a project that has matured over the years, the fruit of the brand’s experience in competition and technological development. This new team embodies a clear philosophy: to build a solid and coherent project, true to Megamo’s identity and its vision of cycling.
Girona, at the heart of the project
Founded in 1987 in Girona, Megamo relies on this city, which has become one of the world’s hubs for gravel and international cycling. More than just a training ground, Girona is a true territory of expression for the brand.
The riders, the Team Manager, and the mechanic all reside in the region. This local presence strengthens the authenticity of the project and the connection between the team, the brand, and its environment.
An international and experienced women’s team
Megamo Gravel Racing brings together four athletes from the international gravel scene:
- Lucy Hempstead (Canada), a rising star of the Gravel Earth Series, recognized for her performance and commitment to the gravel community.
- Cassia Boglio (Australia), one of the discipline’s leaders in Australia, with several national and UCI World Series podiums.
- Theresa Rindler-Bachl (Austria), national gravel champion, also a Cape Epic winner and regular on international podiums.
- Sarah Diekmeyer (Canada), specialist in long distances and the most demanding races on the calendar.
With this lineup, Megamo positions itself among the first professional women’s structures entirely dedicated to gravel.
An experienced technical and creative team
The sports direction is provided by Alba Lara, a Team Manager recognized for her human vision and in-depth knowledge of cycling.
Mechanics are entrusted to Eduard Portal, former mechanic for Buff–Megamo, a team considered a world reference in MTB marathon.
The project also relies on a solid content production team composed of Oriol Roset and Marc Porras (Avanto Studio), as well as Roger Salanova and Martí Miró, responsible for documenting the adventure as closely as possible to the team.

The Megamo Silk, official team bike
The team will ride the Megamo Silk, equipped with a SRAM RED groupset, Zipp, Hammerhead, and Time components, as well as Fizik elements and Vittoria tires in 50 mm width. This model is the result of several years of development and will also be available to the general public.
Sporting objectives and 2026 calendar
The main objective for the 2026 season will be the general classification of the Gravel Earth Series, as well as national championships and the main rounds of the UCI Gravel World Series.
The team will officially begin its season on February 14 in Santa Vall (Sant Gregori). Prior to that, Cassia Boglio, Lucy Hempstead, and Theresa Rindler-Bachl will participate in the Bescanonina on February 8 in Girona.
Megamo Gravel Racing is already present on social media via @megamogravelracing on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
