Bianchi becomes sponsor of one of the best triathlon teams

The iconic Italian brand Bianchi partners with one of the world’s most successful triathlon teams to launch the new Bianchi Pro Triathlon Team – A new chapter in celeste for modern triathlon’s most decorated squad.

Since its ascent to the highest level of the discipline in 2014, the team has experienced a period of exceptional domination, accumulating over 150 victories and more than 300 podiums worldwide, including the 2022 Ironman World Champion title, the 2021 and 2025 Long Distance Triathlon World Champion titles, as well as the Olympic bronze medal at Paris 2024.

With the arrival of Bianchi, the team embarks on an equally ambitious new era, where the legacy of sporting excellence meets Italian expertise. The team will race on the Aquila RC, Bianchi’s cutting-edge time trial bike, optimized for triathlon and offering athletes one of the most advanced and aerodynamic setups.

In Italian, Aquila means “eagle,” a name chosen to symbolize the combination of speed and elegance. The bike was designed by Bianchi’s Reparto Corse engineers to be the fastest possible time trial bike.

The Aquila RC required 20 months of development in close collaboration with top athletes. The result is an aggressive and steep 77.5° seat tube angle, increased reach, while maintaining the same top tube length as the previous generation. The frame and fork weigh only 1.7 kg in total and can accommodate 28 mm tires. The handlebar, seatpost, and bottom bracket shell have also been optimized to reduce drag in strategic areas.

Compared to its predecessor, the Aquila RC saves 16.1 watts at 50 km/h, a gain of 37 seconds over a distance of 40.7 km.

The version used by the team has been optimized for the specific demands of elite triathlon, with integrated toolboxes in the seat tube depending on frame size – offering a gain of 6 watts at 50 km/h – as well as adaptable mounting points for the hydration systems chosen by each athlete.

Bianchi CEO, Alberto Cavaggioni, stated: “This is a historic moment for Bianchi to partner with such an iconic and high-performing team. As a global brand, we wanted to collaborate with international athletes, present on all continents in the most prestigious races, and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about uniting with such a respected and accomplished squad.”

Bianchi Chief Product Officer, Emanuele Liatti, added: “While we are extremely proud of our current Aquila RC, we see this partnership as the beginning of a long and important collaboration, which will see our Reparto Corse work closely with the athletes and performance staff to continue developing the ultra-performing time trial and triathlon bikes of tomorrow.”

Bianchi Pro Triathlon Team General Manager, Bob De Wolf, stated: “After 12 magnificent seasons, we are ready to take a new step. This partnership represents much more than just a sponsorship. Bianchi brings unparalleled expertise, in-house innovation, and a relentless pursuit of performance. With access to the new Bianchi Aquila RC, we are confident that our athletes will have one of the fastest bikes on the planet. The aerodynamic and performance gains resulting from this collaboration will allow our athletes to be stronger and faster in races. As one of the most prestigious bicycle manufacturers in the world, Bianchi aligns perfectly with our ambition, and we look forward to seeing this partnership expressed on the biggest international stages.”
