Reserve unveils SL wheels equipped with Tune hubs

Reserve Wheels partners with Tune to launch a limited series of ultra-high-performance wheelsets, designed without compromise for lightness and speed. This exclusive collaboration combines Tune Pico hubs with Reserve SL Turbulent Aero rims, available in three depth configurations: 34|37, 42|49, and 57|64. The set is built with straight-pull carbon spokes for maximum efficiency.

Designed with a single goal: to go faster

Reserve SL rims retain all the qualities that have built the brand’s reputation: advanced aerodynamics, exemplary stability, and predictable handling. Thanks to innovative manufacturing processes, they save 30 g per wheel, or 60 g per pair, compared to standard rims. Combined with the lightest hubs in the Tune range, they create wheels built for competition at the highest level.

Proven Turbulent Aero Technology

All three rim depths benefit from Turbulent Aero technology, validated both in the wind tunnel and on the road. These wheels have already proven themselves in races, with stage victories at the highest level of professional cycling.

Three profiles, three terrains of expression:

  • 34|37 – Ultra-light for the mountains
Ideal for making a difference in decisive moments at altitude. This model was notably used by Jonas Vingegaard during his attack on the Bola del Mundo at the Vuelta 2025.
  • 42|49 – Versatility and speed
A perfect balance between lightness and aerodynamics: light enough for the mountains, fast enough for sprints. Used by Team Visma for nearly 90% of the season.
  • 57|64 – Ultimate Aerodynamics
The fastest profile in the range, the one with which Wout van Aert spectacularly won the final stage of the Tour de France 2025.

Tune Pico Hubs: German Precision and Performance

Pico hubs are machined and assembled in Tune’s factory in Buggingen, Germany. Developed specifically for Reserve SL rims, they perfectly adapt to the ERD and spoke hole offset.

Thanks to their dedicated design, the carbon spokes remain perfectly aligned between the hub and the rim, without bending or twisting. The result: a stiffer, more stable wheel and exceptional power transfer, particularly noticeable during sprints and attacks. The reduction of stress on the nipples and optimized load distribution also ensure excellent longevity.

The axles are hard anodized and the freehub body offers 69 to 138 points of engagement, corresponding to an angle of 5.2° or 2.6°. Machined from 7075-T6 alloy, the hubs boast a featherlight weight of 275 g per pair, including freehub body and end caps. They share some internal components with Tune Micro and Nano hubs.
