Strava, the preferred app for athletes with over 180 million users worldwide, is today globally deploying its new Instant Workouts feature for all Premium subscribers. Available at the top of the activity feed as an interactive carousel, Instant Workouts analyzes your recent activity history to suggest tailored training sessions. The goal? To help you stay consistent, progress, or ease back into activity, without having to plan your next session yourself.
Over 40 sports disciplines are supported, from running to cycling, strength training, swimming, and many others. During the test phase launched in November with a panel of users, running and strength training stood out as the most popular recommendations, with 85% positive feedback overall.
Key Benefits of Instant Workouts
Automatically generated routes: For GPS sessions (running, cycling…), the app creates a custom route starting from your current location, based on the famous Strava Heatmap (billions of activities shared by the community).
Clear explanations: Each suggestion is accompanied by a simple justification (“why this type of session is recommended today”), to better understand its role in your progress.
Expert content: Some recommendations include sessions designed by trusted partners, notably Runna.
A Tool Designed for All Profiles
Whether you’re looking to create a new sports habit, get back into it after a break, or simply vary your well-established routine, Instant Workouts brings freshness and inspiration. The more activities you record (even three are enough to start), the more precise and relevant the suggestions become.
The feature will continue to evolve rapidly in the coming weeks and months: direct sending of workouts to Garmin watches or Apple Watch, improved turn-by-turn guidance… enough to transform Strava into a truly proactive training companion.
