SIGMA launches the RECO 81 LINK: a smart bike radar for maximum cycling safety

SIGMA unveils its new generation of smart rear lights with the RECO 81 LINK. Equipped with advanced radar technology, it enhances cyclist safety by detecting approaching vehicles and increasing their visibility on the road.

A rear radar to anticipate traffic

The RECO radar continuously monitors the cyclist’s rear:

Detection up to 140 meters, with a coverage angle of 60°
Simultaneous tracking of eight vehicles
Real-time, precise, and reliable analysis

Beyond radar alerts, a powerful rear light clearly signals the cyclist’s presence to motorists. The system also integrates advanced safety features:

Brake light
Emergency braking alert

Paired with a compatible GPS bike computer, the RECO becomes a true digital rearview mirror, displaying visual and audible alerts. The system even distinguishes between vehicles at normal speed and those approaching rapidly, for more anticipatory riding.

Two versions, the same level of safety

RECO 80 LINK – German Version (StVZO)

Designed to meet German lighting standards, it offers:

Battery life up to 15h
The same radar performance as the international version

RECO 81 LINK – International Version

Designed for global needs:

Six light modes, including a peloton mode for group riding without dazzling others
Radar technology identical to the RECO 80 LINK

Thanks to several included adapters, the RECO radar can be easily installed on:

Round seatposts
D-shaped models
Aero seatposts

A smart and fully connected system

The strength of the RECO LINK lies in its connectivity:

Bluetooth LINK pairing with the AURA 100 front light: direct control of the rear light from the front, with battery level display.
ANT+ compatibility with SIGMA GPS bike computers ROX 11.1 EVO and ROX 12.1 EVO, as well as other devices supporting the ANT+ radar profile.
Visual and audible alerts as soon as a vehicle approaches.

From spring 2026, the SIGMA RIDE app will also integrate radar alerts, allowing a smartphone to be used as a warning display. In the meantime, the app already allows checking the device status and performing updates.
