An Île-de-France eCycling Championship in 2026 to further legitimize cycling e-Sport? Yes, at 3bikes, we’re in! The Île-de-France eCycling Regional Championship 2026, scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2026, promises to be a new event set to become a lasting fixture in the landscape. An event that could further strengthen the place of virtual cycling in modern sport. Organized by the Île-de-France Cycling Committee, it fully aligns with this dynamic: offering a demanding, supervised competition where data accuracy and sporting rigor leave no room for chance. Only one event on the program, certainly, but rules calibrated to the millimeter to guarantee fairness and transparency. We’ll explain everything.

An explosive course on Zwift
The event will take place on Zwift, on the “Les 3 Mousquetaires” course in the France world: 35.2 km with 193 m of elevation gain. A short format, ideal for the intense races typical of e-cycling.
The start will be a mass-start, all categories mixed, before classification extraction by age group and gender.
Highly regulated participation
It’s impossible to register “just to see”: only holders of an FFC competition license are admitted, in accordance with the rules of the French Cycling Federation.
License holders from other committees can start, but without claiming the regional title.
As for non-license holders, they are excluded, a sign that the discipline wants to gain sporting credibility.
Strictly regulated equipment
Approved smart indoor trainer (±2.5% accuracy), external power meter, cadence sensor, mandatory heart rate monitor… Nothing is left to chance.
Organizers also require a weigh-in and measurement video, filmed on the same day, in cycling attire, according to a very precise protocol.
Any discrepancy, any missing sensor, any inconsistent data can lead to immediate disqualification.
Supervision close to high-level sport
Post-race verifications, possibility of additional requests up to 48 hours, sanction for incorrect pseudonym, technical abandonment not recognized as a result: the rules are clear, consistent, and uncompromising.
Ten titles will be awarded, from U17 to Masters 50+, men and women, during an official ceremony at the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
e-cycling is gaining momentum
This championship demonstrates one thing: virtual cycling is no longer a gadget. By imposing high standards, it is approaching the demands of traditional cycling and attracting increasingly committed competitors.
For riders from the Île-de-France region, it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase their level on a digital terrain where watts speak very loudly.

What 3bikes thinks about it
At 3bikes, we can only applaud the initiative. e-cycling has long navigated between a training tool and a confidential arena; with an official regional event, supported by the CIF (Île-de-France Cycling Committee), a clear milestone has been reached. A date, solid rules, a real award ceremony: all of this helps to give legitimacy to a discipline that many already practice… often without realizing it.
For us, it’s simple: the more we structure virtual cycling, the more we open the way it deserves. And this 2026 championship clearly goes in that direction. Bravo, CIF!
