The Mont Blanc Route 2026: a historic sportive in the heart of the Cotentin

An unprecedented event on September 12 and 13, 2026: dive into the heart of the Cotentin Bay and the D-Day beaches for a unique cycling adventure, blending sport, history, and breathtaking landscapes.

A new event steeped in history and escape

The Route Mont Blanc is to be discovered in 2026 with a special edition dedicated to the iconic roads of La Manche. The start will be given in Sainte-Mère-Église, the first village liberated during the 1944 D-Day landings, immortalized by American paratrooper John Steele hanging from the church steeple.

This is not just a race: it’s a sporting, cultural, and commemorative journey. Explore the authentic landscapes of the Cotentin – from Pont l’Abbé to Montebourg, Valognes, and Saint-Pierre-Église – before riding along the wild coast towards Cosqueville, where sea and cliffs punctuate your efforts.

Continue towards picturesque maritime villages like Gatteville, Barfleur, Landemer, and Quettehou, bathed in the unique light of La Manche. As you approach the hamlet of Les Cruttes, ride as close to History as possible: the D-Day beaches (Utah Beach, Carentan, Brucheville…) line the route, paying tribute to the combatants who liberated Europe. “Between effort and remembrance, come write your own page of adventure on these emotion-filled roads.”
