Paris-Tours 2025, one of the season’s final classics, takes place on Sunday, October 12. The peloton is set to line up at the start in Chartres for the tenth time for a total distance of 211.6 km (compared to 213.8 km in 2024). Nine climbs, as well as nine vineyard roads, are spread across the final third of the race, whose finish has been modified to bring the finish line closer to the final climbs. After Avenue de Grammont, which had hosted the finish since 1988, the final pedal strokes will now take place on Boulevard Béranger, still just a few steps from Tours City Hall. French rider Christophe Laporte, last year’s winner following a breakaway that ended in a sprint ahead of Czech rider Mathias Vacek and with a 21-second lead over the peloton, is on the starting line aiming to defend his title. This will also be the final professional race for French rider Arnaud Démare, the 2021 winner, before he retires. To follow the race closely, check out the route map, the profile, the list of vineyard paths, the TV broadcast schedule, and the riders competing in this 119th edition.

The 2025 Paris-Tours Route
While the race has long been a favorite for pure sprinters, the inclusion of vineyard paths in the route since the 2018 edition adds new physical and tactical factors to consider. A strong burst of speed remains essential in the final stretch, but riders must also demonstrate their racing instincts on the climbs and dirt roads on the course—specifically, in the final 70 kilometers.
The first unpaved section comes at 65.4 km from the finish, promising 800 meters of mud or dust depending on weather conditions, immediately after crossing the Limeray climb. In total, over the 211.6 km course, nine short climbs could serve as springboards, as could the 9.5 kilometers of vineyard paths spread across nine sections. The last of these is located before the Côte de Rochecorbon, where attacks could prove decisive. This stretch may carry even more weight in this year’s final scenario, as the finish line has been moved two kilometers closer to this final summit. Upon entering the city of Tours, the route heads directly toward City Hall, which will now be approached via Boulevard Béranger; the finish will be judged at the end of an 800-meter straight stretch identical in every respect to Avenue de Grammont.
