The new Cervélo R5 redefines the standards of high-end road bikes. With a featherlight weight of 5.97 kg (in SRAM Red or Shimano Dura-Ace, size 56), 900 g under the UCI limit, this bike combines extreme lightness, optimal stiffness, and exceptional power transfer. Already crowned at the 2025 Tour de France Femmes with Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Team Visma-Lease a Bike, the R5 is ready to conquer the most demanding pelotons and mountain passes.
A Concentration of Innovation
With a record frame weight of 651 g and 298 g for the fork (size 56), the new complete R5 bike is 705 g lighter than its predecessor, thanks to an optimized choice of each component. The one-piece cockpit, for example, is 150 g lighter than the previous one, while being more aerodynamic and backward compatible with older R5, Caledonia-5, and Soloist models. It will be available aftermarket by the end of 2025. The new Reserve 34|37 SL, also lightened by 100 g, offer an ideal balance between lightness and dynamism.
The geometry and rider positioning are identical to the Cervélo S5, to facilitate switching between the two models, meeting the expectations of professional racers and enthusiasts alike.
Standard on the Red, Force, and Dura-Ace versions, the Cervélo R5 is equipped with a ceramic bottom bracket for increased fluidity and durability.
Finally, the Cervélo adopts a SRAM UDH derailleur hanger. Lighter, it improves integration and compatibility.
A Machine Built for Competition
The R5 excels in its stiffness, allowing for instant acceleration and optimal power transfer, even for the most powerful riders. Tested and approved by Team Visma-Lease a Bike, it shone on the roads of the Tour de France Femmes, confirming its place among the elite of road bikes.
