A Miraculous Comeback After a Tragedy
Stéphane Lombard’s story is that of a fighter. In 2019, a dramatic crash during the French time trial championships plunged him into a coma, with a 1% chance of survival and a grim prognosis: a possible vegetative state. Against all odds, this former cycling hopeful rebuilt himself, getting back on the bike to challenge the biggest ultracycling events.
His second place at the Desertus Bikus, behind Victor Bosoni (winner of the Transcontinental Race), had already made an impression. At Le Mans, he aimed for victory and the record: mission accomplished.
A Physical and Mental Feat
For 24 hours, Stéphane pushed human limits, completing lap after lap on the Bugatti circuit with unwavering determination. This record is not just a sporting achievement; it is a symbol of perseverance in the face of adversity. His performance, combining extreme endurance and strategy, sets a new standard in ultracycling.

A Web Series to Immortalize the Feat
Stéphane Lombard’s adventure will soon be at the heart of a documentary web series, tracing his journey from coma to this triumph. Scheduled for late 2025, it will offer a moving dive into his quest, with an episode dedicated to this historic record. From racer by day to legend by night, Stéphane Lombard inspires with his courage and tenacity.
