On August 30, 2025, the French Urology Association (AFU) is organizing the 4th edition of the Mont Ventoux climb, a sporting and solidarity event sponsored by the Ministries of Health and Sports. With Bernard Hinault as patron, this ride brings together approximately 600 participants—health professionals, patients, and amateurs—to promote men’s health and the benefits of sport.
An event to raise awareness and mobilize
Under the slogan “Let’s ride together for men’s health,” the AFU aims to:
- Raise awareness of male pathologies: prostate cancer (50,000 new cases/year), erectile dysfunction (20 million men in Europe), infertility (1 in 7 couples), and testicular cancer (18-45 years old).
- Promote adapted physical activity to reduce the risks of overweight, diabetes, hypertension, and cancers.
- Support research through the Urology Innovation Fund (FIU), financed by registrations and donations.
A challenge accessible to all
Departure from Bédoin (84) with two adapted routes:
- Short route (74 km, 1,200 m D+): ideal for amateurs, accessible to muscular and electric bikes, via the Gorges de la Nesque and the ascent via Sault.
- Long route (98 km, 2,130 m D+): reserved for muscular bikes, with a demanding final climb of 6 km (10% over the last 2 km).
Open to all, the event welcomes men, women, seasoned cyclists, or beginners, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Why participate?
- Ride with Bernard Hinault, cycling legend.
- Contribute to a major cause: men’s health and urological research.
- Enjoy the landscapes of Ventoux on a festive day.
A public health campaign
Supported by the State, this initiative is expanding with international delegations (Switzerland, Germany, United Kingdom) and a partnership with Odysséa, committed to fighting breast cancer. This collaboration strengthens mobilization for global health through sport.
Before the effort: awareness
On August 29 at 4 p.m., a scientific meeting open to the public will be held at the Village VTF Les Florans in Bédoin. Led by Prof. Alexandre de la Taille and Bernard Hinault, it will address the impact of sport on male and female health, with expert interventions on cancer, aging, and the perineum.
