Tour 2025: A Year of Strava Records

In 2024, Tour de France riders already made history with 1,770 Strava segments crowned with a new KOM (King of the Mountain). But in 2025, they pushed the limits even further, with an impressive total of 1,809 new KOMs established. A performance that testifies to the intensity and competitiveness within the Strava community.

Tadej Pogačar, undisputed king of the road

Tadej Pogačar not only shone on the podiums, he dominated Strava segments like no one else. Of the 1,809 new KOMs this year, Pogi snatched 362, or 20% of the total! This surpasses his 288 KOMs from the previous year during the same period.

But that’s not all: Pogačar is also the rider most acclaimed by the community, accumulating nearly 2 million Kudos worldwide. One ride in particular stood out, garnering 117,999 Kudos, making it the most celebrated activity of the summer.

The highlight of his exploits: he shattered the record for the mythical Mont Ventoux, improving the previous KOM by 5 minutes and 32 seconds. With a blistering time of 53’47” over 20.74 km at an average gradient of 8.3%, he redefined the standards of this emblematic climb.

In Pogačar’s wake

While Tadej Pogačar dominated one in five KOMs, other riders also performed well:

Lenny Martinez distinguished himself with 126 KOMs.
Bruno Armirail secured 80 KOMs, showing great consistency.

A rising star: Oscar Onley

2025 also revealed a promising talent: the Briton Oscar Onley. With 72 KOMs to his name, he climbed to 5th place in the overall KOM ranking. He even came within 30 seconds of Pogačar’s KOM on the formidable Hautacam segment, proving he is a serious contender for the future.

This year, the Strava community vibrated to the rhythm of these champions’ exploits, and records continue to fall. Who will take up the challenge in 2026?
