Two French comedians, Julien Gadiou and Ben Tyler, are embarking on a unique adventure: the Tour du Rire de France en Vélo (Laugh Tour of France by Bike). This ambitious project combines a stand-up tour across 26 French and Swiss cities with a 3,607-kilometer cycling journey, completed in 34 days. From July 10 to August 12, 2025, the two artists will cycle and perform on stage, combining physical effort with comedic performances.

A sporting and humorous odyssey
The Tour du Rire is much more than just a tour. It’s a celebration of endurance, freedom, and humor, powered solely by leg strength. Without a support car or heavy logistics, Julien and Ben will crisscross France, from Fromentine to La Rochelle, from Toulouse to Marseille, passing through Nice, Lyon, the Alps, and even Geneva and Lausanne.
Their goal: to offer a show every evening in a different city, after having cycled to the stage.
The duo shares their daily adventure on social media, documenting the landscapes, encounters, behind-the-scenes of the shows, and the challenges of the road. This approach aims to create an authentic connection with the public, who can follow their journey in real time.
A two-sided challenge
Each day, Julien and Ben will alternate between the intensity of stage performances and the physical demands of cycling. This sustained pace will test their ability to maintain the quality of their shows despite fatigue. As Julien Gadiou emphasizes: “My goal is to offer a show that allows the audience to escape, regain energy, and leave with a smile.”
The challenge is also logistical. With only two bikes and two bags, the comedians adopt a minimalist approach, favoring short circuits and responsible consumption. This tour aims to reconnect with the regions crossed, while pushing physical and artistic boundaries.
Two comedians, a complementary duo
Julien Gadiou and Ben Tyler met in Montpellier during a stand-up showcase. Their complicity and distinct backgrounds form a perfect balance. Julien Gadiou, originally from the south of France, made a name for himself in comedy clubs in Montpellier and Paris. Winner of the Fest’Ille Rire 2024 competition, he also opened for Roman Frayssinet. His absurd and tender humor, inspired by his youth and family references, captivates with its subtlety.

Ben Tyler, a former footballer, lived in Canada where he was introduced to stage hypnosis, even participating in the pre-selections for America’s Got Talent. Back in France, he traded his bar in Orléans for an 18,000 km bike trip to the Cape of Good Hope. This journey inspires his autobiographical, sincere, and introspective stand-up, where the road becomes a metaphor for the quest for identity.

Their complementary strengths make the project rich: Julien manages logistics and communication, while Ben excels in road and pace management. As Ben explains: “What is difficult for one is not necessarily difficult for the other. We complement each other, and that’s what makes us strong.”
A tour to follow live
The Tour du Rire will begin on July 10, 2025, at 6:00 AM in Place Royale, Nantes, after a launch party the day before. The arrival is scheduled for August 12 in the same city. The 22 shows and 3,607 km of stages include passages through Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice, Grenoble, Lyon, and even Geneva and Lausanne. The duo invites the public to follow their adventure via a digital logbook, mixing travel anecdotes, daily challenges, and moments of joy. This transparency strengthens the connection with spectators, who become valuable supporters throughout this epic journey.
