The 2027 World Championships in Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc presented

Dates: August 24 – September 5, 2027

The 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships will be held in Haute-Savoie, with a course including the famous Côte de Domancy, renamed “Route Bernard Hinault” in homage to his victory in 1980. A delegation from the Organizing Committee recently rode this route, offering a preview of this event scheduled from August 24 to September 5, 2027.

A World-Class Event

With just over two years to go until this event, Haute-Savoie and France have unveiled the main outlines of this exceptional competition. Bringing together 20 UCI World Championships, it will host 10,000 athletes, award 281 rainbow jerseys and 843 medals over 13 days. Five Olympic disciplines will also serve as qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The event aims to be inclusive, sustainable, and accessible, bringing together all cycling disciplines.

Haute-Savoie, Host Region

Sallanches will be a key competition site, but the entire Haute-Savoie region will be mobilized with 12 competition venues, mainly grouped around a central hub to facilitate the reception of athletes, delegations, and media. The natural setting, with Mont-Blanc, lakes, and varied landscapes, will offer a unique backdrop. A visit to the Olympic velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is also planned for the track events.

Support from the Cycling World

The symbolic launch brought together major figures, including Michel Callot, President of the Organizing Committee and the French Cycling Federation, David Lappartient, President of the UCI, and Martial Saddier, President of the Departmental Council of Haute-Savoie. Champions such as Bernard Hinault, ambassador for the 2027 edition, Florian Rousseau, triple Olympic track champion, as well as active riders such as Marion Borras, Arthur Pilard, Coralie Demay, Aurélien and Valentin Paret-Peintre, Florian Jouanny, and Anaïs Vincent, were present.
